Female gray wolf with cub, near Sandstone, MN

I've actually been avoiding processing the images from this trip, since I thought they would all be terrible, In the early morning in the woods there was very little light (and terrible mosquitoes). Because of the low light, the need for a fast shutter speed to capture the action, and my desire for a bit of depth of field, I had to hike the ISO up way higher than I like. The shots looked terrible on my D800 screen and among the worst shots I've ever taken. Today I steeled myself to look at the shots and since I was shooting in RAW I was able to salvage some shots by processing them in Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop CS6.
