The warts that give the wart hogs their name are the four fleshy protruburances in the males that you can see here.  They serve as a fat reservoirs, and for defense when males fight.

We were watching a large group of zebra when two males started having a battle royal that went on for several minutes before a 'winner' was decided.  More pics to come

These zebra were engaged in some serious fighting, including kicks to the head and biting hard enough to draw blood.  Dominance fight to control a harem, I think.
