In this photo I wanted to capture the exuberant growth of trees, shrubs, moss, lichens and plants, seemingly covering every inch of surface in the rain forest (best larger).

You can't have a rain forest without lots of rain and the rain results in a multiplicity of small and large waterfalls streaming down the cliffs into the rivers and the sea. Here is one of the small waterfalls with the typical rocks and boulders and ferns of the rain forest environment.

I love the lush rich greens, gigantic trees and the huge variety of vegetation in the north temperate rainforest. A couple of good place to experience this right in the city of Vancouver are Stanley Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. This photo was taken from from the Cliff Walk at Capilano, looking down the trunks of the tall trees to the ferns on the forest floor. The Capilano River is at the top right.

I spent some time trying to capture the essence of the rain forest environment in photos that can be seen here: http://goo.gl/QyfkDq
