Corran Ferry

The Corran Ferry (MV Corran, 2001) takes cars and foot passengers on the 5 min trip from Nether Lochbar to Ardgour across the Loch Linnhe narrows, Scotland. There has been some kind of a ferry here for centuries and it lies on an ancient drove route for bringing cattle to market. It is one of few remaining scheduled mainland vehicle ferries in Scotland, saving an hour-long drive.

The Caledonian canal, built in the early 19th C, joins the E. Coast of Scotland with the W. Coast, running from Inverness to Fort Willliam down a series of lochs (Ness, Ochy and Oich) and locks ending with the 8 staircase lock of Neptune's staircase at Loch Linnhe.
