Commando Memorial
Commando Memorial, 1952, to the men of the British Commando Forces of WWII who trained at nearby Archnacarry Castle, Spean Bridge, Scottish Highlands. The Commandos were established by Churchill after Dunkirk in June 1940. They are looking south towards Ben Nevis, the area shown in yesterday's photo, where they did their training.

on December 30, 2022Wonderful shot of the Commando memorial. I always find this place so moving, especially now that they have the garden of remembrance next to it. It's a fine memorial to the men who trained in this area as commandos and served in WWII.
