The Massacre at Glencoe Monument is an 18 ft granite Celtic cross that commemorates the 13 Feb, 1692 massacre at Glen Coe of 30 members of the Clan MacDonald by government forces, supposedly for failing to sign an oath of allegiance to William III following the defeat of bonnie Prince Charlie during the Jacobite rebellion of 1689.
