Mother and daughter
A mother puma, in the foreground and her yearling cub from last year's litter (background) taking a break from feeding on a guanaco carcass, a recent kill by the mother, Lago Sarmiento, Patagonia. The cubs stay with the mother for 2 years after birth before they strike out on their own.

on March 10, 2019Beautiful glimpse into the hard life of pumas in the wild. If the cubs stay for two years, I assume it takes that long to learn the necessary survival skills.

on March 10, 2019Beautiful shot of mother and daughter. The daughter looks nearly as big of body as the mother, but you can see the age in the mothers face. How exciting it must have been to see them.
