  • Pre-dawn light with zodiac, around 4 am, Rescue Bay, BC<br /> <br /> I really couldn't decide between two different sunrise photos to post today. In the end I went with this one. The other one is here: <a href="http://goo.gl/W7QBO">http://goo.gl/W7QBO</a><br /> Which do you prefer?<br /> <br /> I'm off on a short trip today, but I will try to post and comment when possible since I will have internet access, unlike on many of my more remote trips. Maybe I'll even get time to take a photo or two between meetings, since Basel has a lovely, authentic old city dating back to the 1300s :-)

  • Bonaparte gull, early morning, Rescue Bay, BC<br /> <br /> This is a new species of gull for me (meaning just that I didn't know about them before I saw these; they are quite common in the area). I was out in a small row boat in the early morning, and found that the birds didn't spook very easily if I went upwind of them and just drifted down on them like a piece of driftwood. I liked the branches extending into the fame and the reflections of the forest in the water<br /> <br /> Other new pics of Bonaparte gulls, and a pic of a curious seal can be seen here; <a href="http://goo.gl/kvWHv">http://goo.gl/kvWHv</a>
