Flying low
Everywhere you look near the shore in Newfoundland you see birds, especially gulls. In this image a Herring gull (Larus argentatus )is flying over the rocky shore and the rock weed (Ascophyllum nodosumin) in the intertidal zone at the beach near L'anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland (best larger).
Re cropping, I thought about it when I did the initial edit, but IMO the shot was as much about the environment as the bird, so I went for a wider crop.

on January 20, 2017Perhaps a descendant of gulls that flew over the beach when the Vikings were in residence.
