This little guy struggled mightily to get the heavy wooden pole up to where he could use it to hit the prayer bell

The statue is housed in a huge, warehouse-like building (see photo in the Yangon 2 gallery) that really distracts from the image, hence the black background.<br />

I've been neglecting the photos from my fantastic trip to Myanmar, so I'm now trying to find time to edit them.

I couldn't figure out why 'ducks' were pulling the barge, so I looked it up,   The birds are called Hamsh, traditionally geese or swans.  They are a symbol of "purity, detachment, divine knowledge, cosmic breath (prana) and highest spiritual accomplishment". A high level of symbolism is attached to water birds as they can walk on the earth, fly in the sky, and swim in the water.
