Kitsune statue with rice stalk
The Fushimi Inari-taisha Shinto Shrine in Tokyo is devoted to Inari, the god of rice and many statues of foxes (kitsune) can be found around the temple grounds. I especially liked this one, where the fox is holding a stalk of rice in its mouth. The gai-haiden (outer shrine of worship) is in the background and a woman custodian in the foreground keeping the shrine immaculate.
