The local people here dress in traditional clothing and the women in their saris were a pleasure to behold. Behind you can see Pavagadh Hill, which rises 2600 ft from the surrounding plain and is major site for religious pilgrimages (more photos to come later).

Note: I'm heading up into my 'backyard' for a few days to try to catch some shots of grizzly bears feeding up for winter on the salmon streams. My ability to post and comment may be limited.

 • The caretaker, Saher Ki Masjid mosque (best seen at larger size)

The mosque is a blend of Hindu pillar and beam construction and Islamic column and arch construction. It is located in the Champaner-Pavagdh Archeological Park, a UNESCO heritage site in Gujurat State. I was taken with how the light streamed in between the pillars and lit the caretaker.
 • Inside of a dome, Sahar Ki Masjid Mosque, Champaner, Gujurat

When looking up at the inside of the dome, depending on how you look at it, the center of the dome appears to either be coming towards the viewer or receeding away from the viewer. In effect the center is receeding into the top of the roof like the bottom of a bowl. This is an interesting optical illusion.
