Several times we saw ice caves carved through large icebergs and there is always a temptation to pass through them, but this is a bad idea due to the inherent instability of the ice. As we photographed this tunnel, a large chunk of ice broke off from the ceiling and splashed down in the middle of the opening. The mountainous shore of Jameson Land can be seen through the opening, Hall Bredning, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.
