This 3 mo old german shepherd is owned by a friend in Copenhagen. I loved how one of her ears always flopped over on the top of her head like a bad combover. Rosenborg castle is reflected in her eyes at larger sizes.
Christiansborg Palace had a wonderful collection of Gobelin Tapestries. Gobelin is a famous maker of tapestries in Paris since 1602 (yes, over 400 years), and is still in operation today. Hand held, no flash, ISO 1600. Since tapestries are flat, a low f-stop was used (f/4)

For all of you, like me, who are fascinated with horses and their paraphernalia, a photo of the royal coach attached to all the harnesses, and other views of the harnesses can be seen here: http://goo.gl/Jsdmua
• Light, shadow and reflections, Christiansborg Palace, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Taking photographs was permitted in the palace, but no tripods and no flash was allowed, making it challenging to get decent photographs since the lightening was very contrasty with lots of bright and dark areas and reflections. Notice there are also reflections in the mirror on the left hand side.

All the photos in this series were taken hand held at a high ISO and high f-stop (f/11, ISO 1250). Since there was nothing I could do about the reflections, I tried to take advantage of them in my photos.

Other photos from the palace, including photos of a couple of images from the Gobelin tapestry collection, can be seen here: http://goo.gl/MlBG89
A somewhat distorted self-portrait taken in the mirror room, Rosenborg Castle, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Rosenborg Castle was built between 1606 and 1624 by King Christian IV in the Dutch Renaissance style, originally as a country summer house. It has a lovely renaissance garden, Denmark's oldest royal garden.
