Hippos leave the water
Hippos usually leave the water to feed only during the cool of the night and it is unusual to see them out of the water in broad daylight with its threat of overheating and dehydration. It seemed that this pair of hippos (Hippopotamus amphibius) couldn't resist the tall fresh grass in Ngorongoro Caldera, brought on by the rainy season in Tanzania, and had moved up onto the bank to feed. The forward animal was spending a lot of time opening and closing its mouth, in a threat display.
(This could have been another 'H' for Judy's alphabet challenge)
