Hummingbird hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum) feeding on flowers, Altyn Emel National Park, Kazakhstan. At the small hotel I stayed at near the park, there were many hawk-moths and bees feeding on the flowers. They turned out to be fiendishly difficult to photograph and freeze the action with their long tongue in the flower. I had to go to 1/8000 sec and 8000 ISO to get a shot with the wing action frozen. Of course the other way to do this is use a stobe light but in this remote area no such thing was available.
