Scottish broch
Dun Carloway, ~100 AD, an Iron Age roundhouse tower of double walled drystone construction and one of the best preserved of the many Scottish brochs. It has a spiral staircase winding upwards between the inner and outer walls. The purpose of the brochs is still subject to debate. Doune, Outer Hebrides, Isle of Lewis, Scotland.
