Neptune's Staircase
The cruise ship Nova Spero, Stornaway (converted fishing boat), passes through the 8 lock Neptune's Staircase, and the Banavie Swing Bridge on the Caledonian Canal, Fort William, Scotland. The Caledonian canal, built in the early 19th C, joins the E. Coast of Scotland with the W. Coast, running from Inverness to Fort Willliam down a series of lochs (Ness, Ochy and Oich) ending at Loch Linnhe with Neptune's staircase, built by Thomas Telford between 1803 and 1822.

on January 4, 2023Lots to explore and admire in this scene, and the gathering of the people seem to justify why the cruise ship is the focal!

on January 4, 2023That was quite an engineering feat for the day--a big project if it took almost 20 years to complete. Great view of boat going through the locks.
