Callanish III
Although the Callanish I standing stones are the largest and most impressive, there are a number of other notable megalithic stone circles on the Isle of Lewis. I photographed the Callanish III site, a short distance from Callanish I, on a rainy day. Outer Hebrides, Scotland.

2 weeks agoSeeing sites like this, even your photographs of them, put me into a meditative mood, imagining the ancient stones and their uses, the people who erected them, and their ritual uses. Makes me want to sit and think...though maybe not in rain! ;-)
