Salmon for breakfast
A second year grizzly cub, with nice rim light, comes out of the sedge grass and spies a salmon carcass at the water's edge, Chilko Lake, BC. Sockeye salmon die after spawning, and although they prefer freshly caught salmon, grizzlies will also graze on washed up salmon and carcasses left by other bears.

on September 24, 2021An excellent POV of the bear walking out from the cover of the foliage and exposing himself/herself onto an open riverbank.

on September 23, 2021What a great shot Terry. Yes, this one looks older than the other cub. I'm on his side, salmon for breakfast would suit me fine. :-) I love the look on his face!
