The path of least resistance
A group of Capuchin monkeys (Cebus imitator) near the roadside on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, were using a barbed wire fence and wooden supports surrounding a grazing field to get from tree to tree. Perhaps they felt it was safer than going though the tall grasses on the ground with the danger of snakes?

on July 19, 2022Wow, what a fantastic shot of this Capuchin monkey in an absolutely fabulous pose. I love that his face is looking up, and one of the hind feet is risen in preparation for the next step along the fence. I would imagine that you are correct on them avoiding the high grasses due to the possibility of snakes. I love this image Terry, it's wonderful!

on July 19, 2022Amazing how gracefully they are able to maneuver the barbed wire and wooden poles. Nicely captured. Beautiful fur.

on July 19, 2022Watching these monkeys must have been fascinating! Fantastic sharp shot...love the expression you have caught. I am wondering if you are right about the snakes...sounds logical to me.
