Butter Bridge
Butter Bridge, a humpbacked, single-arch bridge of coursed rubble and cut stone, was built in 1748 over Kinglas Water as part of a military road from Dumbarton to Inveraray. The road was built to bring British troops and equipment into the then roadless Scottish Highlands in order to suppress the Jacobite supporters of Charles Stuart. Near Beinn Ime and Glencoe, Argyll, Scotland. The old road is now a popular hiking route.
