Polar bear on shore ice
In November, a polar bear (Ursus maritimus) waiting for freeze up, climbs a mound of snow and ice that has built up on the shore of Hudson Bay, Churchill, Manitoba. I liked the nice shadow his turned head make on his body.

on February 13, 2022Well done capture to set the bear apart from the ice and to show the conditions that they have to negotiate to survive.

on February 13, 2022I was going to type that I prefer this color and the white polar bears over the black polar bears; however, my curiosity got the best of me and I researched and discovered that.....
"Polar bears are not white, they have black skin and two layers of translucent, hollow fur. However, they appear white because their fur reflects the white sunlight. This is why they may appear grey when it is cloudy and have a red tint at sunset."

on February 12, 2022I'd love to see and observe the Polar Bears in the wild. They are so beautiful, and I know can be ferocious - but then all of the bears can be. This is a stunning shot Terry!
