Together again
After safely crossing the Carretera Austral, the huemul doe reunited with the stag and both began feeding together by Estero Mallines O Paso las Mulas, Parque Nacional Cerro Castillo, Patagonia. It was very special to catch this pair of endangered South Andean deer close together in the same shot.

on June 22, 2021PS your comment about the heat: We did have some extremely hot days while in AZ and Utah; however, we powered through. The hikes that we like to do were very short and difficult (due to the heat). Yet, NM and CO were delightful in their moderate temps. So all in all we got by without too much pain, sweat and tears. LOL

on June 21, 2021It IS great to see them together like this--perhaps a mated pair? (Now go and make more babies...don't you know you are endangered?) ;-)
