Zen garden
Tokushima Castle was destroyed in 1875 during the Meiji Restoration, but its gardens remain. The Omote Goten Garden was built in Momoyama style ~ 1600 by Uedo Soko. It is a karesansui (dry rock garden, Zen garden). Its most distinctive feature is the bridge made of a single unhewn rock over 10 M long, the longest such rock in Japan. Tokushima, Shikoku Island, Japan.

on December 28, 2022The large rock was the first thing to catch my eye. It's amazing that it is a single rock. Beautiful shot of this garden.
