Walking the shoreline

A dark coloured grizzly cub (an older cub) walks along the rocky shoreline of the Chilko River during salmon season past some tall grass seeds that also dot his/her coat. Cariboo Chilcotin, British Columbia.

Note this is an older grizzly CUB, not an older grizzly...probably 2.5 years old....he'll leave his mom after this winter's hibernation

Great shot and details ! He looks sad and thin... Perhaps he has difficulties to catch salmons even if he has impressive claws

Well done capture that shows the huge size of its paws and the long sharp nails.

Nice view of this dark one walking along. I had wondered how long the cubs stuck around with mom--so it's about 3 years or so (better than 18 years, and even then they move back in!) ;-)

He certainly does appear to be an older grizzly bear, but I can imagine that he still has "some fight in him" if he senses a threat and/or danger from another bear! I love to know what age is considered "old" for a bear.
