Stirling Castle

Stirling Castle is one of the largest and most important of the Scottish castles. The current structures were built 1490-1600 and were the royal residence of the Stewart kings and Mary Queen of Scots who lived here as an infant from 1542 to 1548 and was crowned Queen of Scotland in the castle chapel in 1543. She returned to Scotland from France in 1561 and resided briefly at Stirling Castle for periods of time between 1562 and 1567, Stirling, Scotland.

What an amazing history this strong and stately castle has seen over it's many years in existence. I love the fact that the royals lived there so long ago. Great shot and the perfect pov to capture it's beauty.

Great view of the castle. A view I have seen a number of times in person. Did you get to go around it and visit the Wallace Monument on the ridge opposite?

Very impressive, looking well-fortified up on the hilltop! Such a long history within those many walls, with such stories to tell!

Excellent POV to capture so many details of this historic castle, looks very cold, damp and unwelcoming, I must say.

Very sad about your friend's dog, a very meaningful reminder of the life and death importance of the 'recall' lesson, but even that is not 100% reliable....
