Sitka National Historic Park
On a recent trip to Sitka, Alaska I visited the Sitka National Historic Park and photographed a display sign that caught my eye, given recent events in Europe. There was some talk around town about how close Alaska was to Russia. Two islands in the Bering strait owned by the respective countries are only ~2.5 miles apart.

on March 28, 2022Sobering thought...it's hard to imagine Russia turning its eyes this way, but you never know. I remember all the historic Russian influences we saw in Alaska.

on March 28, 2022Great shot and information. Current circumstances in the Ukraine put that information board into some kind of perspective.
