Bolt from the blue
A startled polar bear cub looks up in surprise as a large raven passes overhead, silhouetted against the blue sky. Its sibling chews on a chain. The inshore ice and the ice-free waters of Hudson Bay can be seen in the distance, Churchill, Manitoba. The cubs are waiting for freeze-up to go out on the ice with their mother to hunt seals.
The block and chain is to prevent vehicular access to the Canadian Eskimo Dog breeding site on the shoreline

on February 7, 2022Lots of interest in this well-timed capture - the raven flying by; one bear distracted and the other much more focused on the task at hand. Also whatever the cement block is with the attached wire.

on February 7, 2022Wonderful timing to get the raven flying directly over the two bears. Nice composition and lovely shot of the two bears.
