Bluff charge
Just after the tree rubbing episode with her yearling cub, the somewhat nervous mother grizzly, decided to bluff charge us through the water. A bluff charge is meant to scare or intimidate and is characterized by her head up and ears forward and bounding forward on her front paws, then stopping short. After 3 or 4 bounds she veered off and went back to her cubs. This was captured from a safe distance offshore with a long telephoto lens.
A second photo in the sequence is also posted today.

on October 17, 2021Even with a long telephoto - not sure that I would have the nerves of steel to hold a camera steady enough for a sharp capture like this. Excellent work with both captures to get the action and sharp water spray.
