Time out
A female guanco (Lama guanicoe) resting in a sandy depression in a field of wildflowers, Chacabuco Valley, Patagonia. These round-shaped sandy depressions were a popular resting place with the guanacos, and I would like to know if they had some particular advantages, e.g., keeping parasites away, or controlling temperature?

on March 9, 2021Nice shot of the guanaco--like the way her front feet are tucked underneath her. Your wondering makes me wonder if they created the sandy depressions or if they are a natural phenomena, just being used by the animals.

on March 9, 2021Wonderful image of the guanco female. Is this the mom from yesterday? She's a beauty and the details you've captured in her fur are wonderful. I know some women who pay a lot of money for eyelashes like that. :-)
