Where's my breakfast?
Nek'ko, my 15 week old champagne Burmese kitten, sitting on the kitchen table in a shaft of sunlight telling me it's breakfast time.
His name is a cross lingual word play on the Japanese word 'neko' (ねこ), meaning cat. I wanted a double 'k' to go with the double 'c' of my dog's name Tacco. When Japanese Hirigana words have double consonants such as 'k' or 'p' there is a very slight pause between the 1st and 2nd consonants indicated by the small symbol for 'tsu' (っ) in Japanese. This is why I put in the apostrophe, so it is pronounced Nek Ko, (ねっこ) as two separate words with a small pause in between.

on February 1, 2021Nek'ko is so beautiful/handsome - he or she? I love the light that caught the whiskers. Yes, they can be quiet vocal when they are hungry.
