Howler monkey
One of my great delights in Costa Rica was to be awakened early each morning by the Howler monkey chorus (Alouatta palliata), one of the largest of the New World monkeys. Here one of them looks down at me from high in a tree on the Osa Peninsula.

on June 5, 2022I can only imagine your thrill to have them wake you each morning with their singing. I'm going to google that as I would love to hear what they sound like. This is a fabulous image Terry, and it does show the large size of this species. Awesome capture!

on June 5, 2022I think the only thing that would make this image any better, would be if you could have included the chorus of Howler Monkeys to entertain us! ;-) How great that you had that experience and even got a shot of this one up in the tree.
It reminds me of how we were awakened very early every morning on the island of Tobago by the chorus of the quite loud Plain Chachalacas.
