4 hours agoTerry--For sure it's not White-tailed Kites, a species I know well. Pretty sure these are Pearl Kites (Gampsonyx swainsonii), based on the yellow on the face, the white breast, the dark back, and a peek at the red that shows on the lower abdomen. Try Googling them and see what you think. I saw them in Trinidad--a very pretty small raptor.

8 hours agoToday must be "Bird Day" in the dailies; this is the third bird I've viewed and commented on. Trust me, I'm not complaining; they are all beautiful in their own way. Furthermore, since I haven't been able to photograph the bluejay or redbird that frequently visits the honeysuckles in our yard (by the time I go in the house to retrieve the camera and return, they're gone), they are a treat for my eyes!
