Kakashi boy
As the remote mountain village of Nagoro slowly depopulated, a former resident, Ayano Tsukimi, returned home and began to repopulate the village with full sized scarecrow dolls (Kakashi), each representing a former villager, using their clothes and accessories. Here is a rosy-cheeked kakashi boy in a red knit hat on a bicycle. Nagoro Doll Village, Iya Valley, Japan.

on October 13, 2019What a wonderful person to have returned and created the villagers in these dolls. This is a particularly poignant image of the young boy. I hope that he left voluntarily with his parents and didn't meet his end there.
