How to eat a clam
When this grizzly bear dug up a clam it broke open the shell and grabbed the meat with its teeth and used its paw to help strip off residual bits of shell. Khutzeymateen Inlet, BC. It was a lot of effort for relatively little nutrition, so clams must be like candy for the grizzlies. Of course, I'd be turned off by the amount of sand and mud that accompanied this treat.

on July 27, 2019Thanks, Donna....quahogs are still clams, just a different size so far as I can tell, and geoducks out here are also clams but very large.

on July 19, 2019Thanks for asking my question! Those bears are ingenious. You have to wonder how the first one decided there was something good inside.
