A handsome male Gemsbok (Oryx gazella) with a nice set of horns stands in beautiful sunrise light in the tall grasses, with a yellow billed oxpecker perched on its back. It's Africans name 'gemsbok' derives from the dutch name for a chamois, gemsbok, to which it bears superficial resemblance, although unrelated. Mabula Game Reserve, South Africa.
I looked at the new SmugMug display on my website and BuyPhoto is only a little inset at the lower right, which hardly impacts the image. I do like that you can now click on the image to get a large size and click again to get full screen that can now be scrolled around with the mouse and not those annoying bars at the side and bottom. IMO an overall improvement, based on my own web site experience.

I find the new viewing experience a mixed bag. I personally liked having the bars when large images are viewed in maximum resolution. Otherwise it's possible to get lost inside an image. I routinely view photos in the largest size possible, so trying to figure out where I am gets old fast. The thing I really really hate is the fact that when you're viewing an image in the user's own space, you can't see the caption and the comments simultaneously. Makes it almost impossible to comment as a response to said captions. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Also, since I use a very large monitor, it's inconvenient to have to move the mouse and twist my view to the far left to edit the photo info (title, caption, keywords). A central location worked better for me. Just saying. We don't all work on ipads, smart phones, and other small devices.
