After the mother grizzly stood tall to check for dangers to her cub from a male grizzly in the area, she dropped back down to continue feeding side by side with her cub in the spring sedge grass meadow in this head on view. She remains alert. Khutzeymateen estuary, BC.

on August 5, 2019All is well for now, but you can tell that she is still very alert for any males lurking nearby. When at Knight Inlet, we saw a mother and two cubs make a u-turn in the river because of a big male that was fishing up river. She never got close enough to the viewing platform for me to get a photo of the group. Wonderful shot!
