Alcove
I loved the beautiful alcoves dispersed throughout the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, with their cool white Macedonian marble and their superb floral mosaics. They were a great place to sit and take a rest and enjoy the magnificent artistry of the mosque. Abu Dhabi, UAE. I liked that the man's clothing echoed the colours of the mosaic.

on June 5, 2019Wonderful bit of serendipity to find a man wearing not just a color-coordinated shirt, but a shirt whose regular geometric pattern (plaid) is a good foil for the intricate floral mosaic work.
