Musk ox for dinner
A dog handler cut pieces off a musk ox carcass as he prepares to feed his sled dogs. Ittoqqortoormiit, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.
Linda, most of the year, its cold enough that the freezer doesn't have to work...so it will just be used for storage.
Judith, musk ox would be more rare to capture than seal, so I think the dogs would eat mostly seals and fish, plus the occasional whale, the occasional musk ox, maybe sea birds.

on September 4, 2020Another "everyday life" shot of this very different world! I wonder if the Musk Oxen are hard to come by for all-year-round food.

on September 4, 2020Super candid! I wonder if that freezer is in working condition? Or, is it for temporary storage of the dog's food.
