Fixer-upper with a view

This old abandoned hunting and whaling cabin has a great view through the windows over Fonfjord and the Volquaart von Kyst mountains of the Gaseland coast, and it's conveniently located on a small hill for watching for whales, polar bears and other wildlfie. It has access to a sheltered harbour and landing beach and also has a nice cast iron stove to keep warm on those long cold nights. Since Greenland has few or no trees, the wood to build the cabin was likely brought by ship from Scandinavia. Danmark Ø, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.

Wonderful capture. Sets a mood and sense of the environment and love the perspective with the view through the windows.

Looks like the old wood stove is still there. My I asked if there would be any danger of the rusty nails getting stepped on by the wildlife.

I can just imagine what it would have been like to stay for long periods of time here. It surely did have a view! Thanks on the comment today of G'son Hunter and his fish. The pond where we were fishing is overpopulated, and due to the drought the water has receded a great deal. The owners asked that we keep all that we caught. So, we had a nice lunch of fresh fish.

Imagining life in the whaling cabin, warmed by the stove, and seeing that view! Your shot shows the view from through the windows, very effective.

Great shot and composition. Yes, I'd like to see Joanna and Chip Gaines take this project. I think they would pass.
