Winter landscape
Old sod house and barn at an Icelandic farm on a stormy winter day, Hafnir, Reykjanes Peninsula, Iceland. Icelandic turf houses have a long history in Iceland, due to their superior insulation qualities in the harsh climate and the lack of other construction materials such as wood. The old sod structures can still be seen around the island and even falling down ones can be excellent for cold storage.

on October 2, 2020Wonderful find, Terry! Great image taken of the old house/barn! I would be tempted to use it as a foreground to the Milky Way if I were there. Did you ever try any night shots while there?

on October 2, 2020This photo reminds me of visiting art galleries and seeing original paintings in this style. It really conveys a feeling of peace and calm. Excellent composition, Terry.

on October 2, 2020A wonderfully composed and captured image to show a 'slice of life" of what it must be like to live in this environment. The tray sky, the blowing grasses and the clear view of the sod house all portray the harsh climate and living conditions.

on October 2, 2020Great view of the sod house and out buildings. Your comp is really great, with the grassy field leading to the buildings.
