Ittoqqortoormiit
Ittoqqortoormiit (try pronouncing that ) village panorama, Scoresby Sund, Liverpool Land, East Greenland.jpg. Ittoqqortoormiit (1925) is the only settlement for hundreds of kilometers in any direction, making it one of the most remote towns in the world. It has a population of ~350 and can only be reach by boat or by helicopter from the remote Nerlerit Inaat Airport on Hurry Inlet on Jameson Land.
You can practice the pronunciation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCPhh9nYu9U

on August 22, 2020Amazing shot of this very remote village. I can't imagine living in a place like that, but I'm sure the residents are quite happy and enjoy their piece of the world. I think I will pass on trying to pronounce the name. :-) Beautiful pano Terry!

on August 22, 2020Quite a name on this village! When I first pulled up the pic, my thought was "habitation!"--surprised after all the land we have seen without any! Then I read about how isolated it is--wow!
