Growler
Small Iceberg remnant in clear blue water, Vikingebugt, Scoresby Sund, Greenland. Growlers are smaller fragments of ice (size of truck or grand piano) than bergy bits (size of small house). They extend less than three feet above the sea surface. When trapped air escapes as the iceberg melts, it sometimes makes a sound like the growl of an animal, hence the name.

on February 21, 2020This is a wonderful shot. I like that I can see part of the iceberg well below the surface. Beautiful shot and wonderful POV.

on February 21, 2020Gorgeous shot! With this smaller iceberg you can really see much of the size below the water, whereas with the large ones, they go so far below that water that you really have no idea how much of the berg is underwater.
