A matter of scale
The 168 ft Rembrandt van Rijn schooner looks small compared to the old tilted iceberg beside it, but both are diminished by the scale of the misty Geikie Plateau in the background with its imposing cliffs and striations, Scoresby Sund, Greenland. The diagonal stripes on the iceberg show the former waterline before the iceberg rolled over.

on April 9, 2020The ship is certainly dwarfed by the imposing cliffs and the iceberg! I like the mood, too!

on January 21, 2020This reminds me a lot of some of the landscape/mountains in Alaska where there is so little color. I love the style of the ship. Excellent image Terry.

on January 21, 2020Excellent shot of the Rembrandt, it certainly puts it in scale with the iceberg. Love the atmospheric conditions.

on January 21, 2020This shot really does put everything in perspective--the landscape is very imposing, and makes the schooner look like a little toy out there!
