Rocks and reflections
An eroded rock formation sits off an ice-littered red sand beach and casts a nice shadow against the sandstone conglomerate cliff. The mushroom-shaped rock is covered wth some yellow lichens and there are some beautiful reflections in the water. Rode O, Rodefjord, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland. (Because the image is almost all one colour, I think the shadow was necessary to make the rock formation stand out and add a 3-dimesional effect)

on July 7, 2020Terry, I love this intimate landscape and it's one of the subjects I look for when out and about. The reflections are so much a part of the photo and causes a second look. Congrats!!

on July 7, 2020You are right that the shadow really helps us see the contour of the formation. Love the reflections in the water.
