Northern fulmar
A Northern fulmar (Fulmarus glacialis) flys past the falling water at Seljalandsfoss, Iceland. The fulmars breed in the cliffs around the waterfall and are very active around the falls. Not an easy task to get the camera to grab a focal point on the birds against the moving water, but after a few tries I got a decent shot.

on October 18, 2020Superb image. I remember seeing them when we were in Iceland, never had a chance to photograph one.

on October 18, 2020It looks like the bird is trying to compete with the waterfall, although I know it's not so. I've often confessed that " I have a very vivid imagination."

on October 18, 2020My first thought when I saw this was wondering how long you had to wait for the fulmar to fly right in that perfect spot for your shot--I'd say if you got it after just "a few tries" you were doing pretty well! I really like this view of the massive falls with the bird flying past!

on October 18, 2020What a wonderful moment that the Flumar flies by just in the right time for you to catch him in the scene. I do love the water action, this is superb Terry.
