Happy Valentine's Day!
For your Valentine's day viewing pleasure I present an aerial view over the ice fields to Monte San Valentin at 4,058m (13,313 feet), which is the highest peak in Chilean Patagonia. It can be climbed from Lago Leones and the Leones Glacier (bottom right), but the climb is long with frequent bad weather, with a high accident and fatality rate.   • Our helicopter passed over the small town of Puerto Guadal on Lago General Carrera on our way back to the helicopter base just out of view to the right. The mountains of Parque Nacional Laguna San Rafael on the horizon are reflected in the lake, Aysen, Patagonia. This is a ranching area, well known for fly fishing and water sports.
