Read MoreThe barbed wire challenge
I came across this beautiful brown horse grazing on dried grasses through some fresh snow. In the foreground of the shot were three strands of barbed wire that ran across his forehead and middle of his nose and another strand ran through the grasses at the bottom of the image (similar to the strands in the background). There was no way to recompose the image to get around the wires. I've noticed that the spot removal brush in PS CC2015 has gotten very good, so I decided to see what it would do with the barbed wire. I quickly ran the brush over the three wire strands and was amazed at the result. Normally I try not to do extensive touch up or manipulation of my images, but I have to say that I prefer this image to the one with the barbed wire. Try looking at the largest size. By the way the shadow across its back is from a branch on a nearby tree.

on January 17, 2017I'd never have known. Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try it out. I think this subject would have appealed with or without the barbed wire. lovely contrast between warm brown horse hair and the bright snow.
