Came across this man with his two dogs sitting by the SS Klondike II in
Whitehouse, Yukon Territory. The nearest dog had the most beautiful blue eyes (best larger).
The SS Klondike was the largest of the sternwheelers of the British Yukon Navigation Company that moved freight up the shallow Yukon River between Whitehorse and Dawson City between 1921 and 1950. The first boat, Klondike I, ran aground in 1936 and was canabalized to build Klondike II in 1937. She was retired in 1950 with the completion of a highway between the two cities. The ship was moved to its present location by the Yukon River in Whitehorse in 1967 after a spell as a cruise ship for tourists and is now fully restored as a National Historic Site of Canada. For those of you familiar with the river boats of the Missisippi, you will notice a lot of similarities between this ship and those ones.
